A Little About Me
My name is Mitch Baroody and thanks for checking out “Thoughts of a Conservative Mind.” I started this website as a project for a business communications class in 2009 and it ended up really taking off.
In 2009, I worked for Congressman Joe Wilson in D.C., ran for Third Vice Chair of the South Carolina Republican Party, and helped manage the day to day operations of S.C. Lt. Governor Ken Ard’s campaign for Lt. Governor.
I graduated The Citadel in May of 2010 with a degree in Political Science, writing a thesis titled, “The Truth About Conservatism.” I am currently obtaining my Juris Doctor at Elon University School of Law. I have worked for numerous political candidates throughout my life, some to remain nameless. I have a great deal of love and admiration for Conservatism and I consider myself a student of it.
Everything I write, speak on, or give an interview for reflects my opinion and doesn’t reflect the opinion of any political party, school, or interest group.
Again, thanks for dropping by!

Good blog. It is great to see younger generations that are not into liberalism.

Mitch Baroody,
I, like yourself, am very conservative; fiscally & socially. I live in Southern California and I am starting college. I cannot stand what is happening to America. While China is adopting Capitalism (all thanks to Nixon), we are headed towards a centrally planned community. Even the GOP has become more Socialist! I’m scared.
I am Catholic and I wouldn’t say I’m completely on one side. I value some aspects of Classical Liberalism, but I dislike Obama’s stance on a certain social issue, that being Abortion. Its murder!
PS: I don’t have anything against President Barack Obama. In fact, I would love to meet him.

Good, Mitch, well written. Not sensationalism like so many blogs now trashing South Carolina, just like The State paper. This one stands out and above those. Don’t know how you have time to do this AND navigate El Cid in your senior year. Met you briefly at state convention last May.
There are Citadel grads, fine men, running for office in 2010 election. You know them. Hope they can count on your support.

Dear Mitch, Keep up the good work. Conservatism by nature is not usually thought of in a progressive light… Your faith, words, thoughts and actions in conjunction with technology paves the way … Get your message out…We need leadership that restores all that we value as the greatest nation in the World!

Barry Goldwater was a libertarian more than a conservative in the contemporary use of that term.
